More Vehicles Recalled for Airbag Fixes
Here at Mungenast St. Louis Honda, customers are our number one priority, so when we learn of news that affects you, especially in regards to safety, we want to be sure to make sure you’re well informed. Last week Honda it is expanding its recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags. So, if you own a Honda vehicle that was manufactured between 2001 and 2008, be sure to check below to see if you may be affected.
Last May, 10 different automakers, including Honda issued recalls to replace air bags containing inflators with defective propellant wafers. If the wafers degrade, the propellant burns too rapidly, resulting in excessive pressure within in the inflator body. Last week, Honda added approximately 127,000 CR-V models to the recall. Registered owners of affected vehicles can expect a notification in the mail within 60 days, to have their vehicle serviced at their local dealership, free of charge.
The following models are included in the recall (15V-370):
– 2003-2007 Honda Accord
– 2001-2005 Honda Civic
– 2002-2004 Honda CR-V (all 2002 and certain 2003 CR-V previously included)
– 2003 Honda Element
– 2002-2003 Honda Odyssey
– 2003 Honda Pilot
– 2003 Acura MDX
In its most recent press release, American Honda continues to urge owners of Honda and Acura vehicles affected by the Takata airbag inflator recalls to get their vehicles repaired at authorized dealers as soon as possible. Vehicle owners can check their vehicles’ recall status at www.recalls.honda.com for Honda owners or www.recalls.acura.com for Acura owners or by calling their authorized dealer.
